Ewhurst Green is a pretty Hamlet built along a ridge south of the River Rother, it has spectacular views across the Valley towards Bodiam Castle. The name Ewhurst translates into the modern "Yew Wood" and is derived from the Anglo Saxon Ew, a "Yew" as in the tree and Hurst meaning wood. Facilities in the Hamlet include a Recreation Ground, a Church and a friendly Country Inn.

The surrounding area also boasts a wealth of excellent Schools ranging from the local Primary Schools at Staplecross and Bodiam to the renowned Private Schools of Vine Hall, Marlborough House, St Ronan’s, Dulwich Preparatory and Benenden to name but a few. For commuting purposes, the nearest Mainline Stations into London are at Robertsbridge, Battle and Etchingham. Boat trips are available from the Village of Bodiam to Newenden on the River Rother which are a fantastic way to see the glorious rural countryside with various boating packages to include Lunch or Dinner.
