The historic and ancient Village of Frant has existed since before the Norman Conquest and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. When the Wealden Iron industry was at its height, much of the Village was owned by Ironmasters and became the haunt of smugglers during the 17th and 18th Centuries. The Village enjoys a fine Church and a General Grocery Store with a Post Office which caters for most day-to-day needs. There is also a Hair Salon, Interior Design Shop and an award winning Estate Agency. In addition, the Village has two fine Country Inns that welcome customers with warming log fires during the winter months and offer much-praised Restaurant and Bar Foods. There is also a Mainline Station located between Frant and the Hamlet of Bells Yew Green.

These include, amongst others, Holmewood House co-ed boarding and day school, Rose Hill Preparatory Day School, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Eastbourne College private secondary schools, Bennett Memorial Diocesan School. The Grammar schools in the locality include Tunbridge Wells Girls, Tunbridge Wells Boys, Skinner Boys, Tonbridge Girls and Judd Grammar.
