The Village of Headcorn is a Civil Parish in the Maidstone District of Kent, just 8 miles (13 km) from the County Town of Maidstone. In addition to the Parish Church, there are also Churches and Chapels for the Methodist, Baptist and Roman Catholic congregations. Headcorn has become famous for a small Airfield located nearby, where there is an Aviation Museum and a Parachuting Centre. Headcorn Parachute Club is the only skydiving club in Kent and is home to national champions and a world-record holder.

Village amenities include: a number of popular Country Inns, numerous Take-Away choices and pretty Cafes/Restaurants, a Bakery and Butchers, Sainsbury Local Supermarket, Newsagent, Dress Shop, Natwest Bank, Fishing World, Kitchen Shop, Factory Fashion Outlet Store, numerous Hairdressers/Beauty Salons and Barbers, Travel Agent, Post Office, Chemist, Holistic Health Shop, Dentist, Charity Shop, Veterinary Surgery, Pets Emporium, Car Sales Garage, Petrol Garage and of course the Mainline Station. The Towns of Maidstone, Tenterden and Royal Tunbridge Wells are all within driving distance and collectively they cater for more comprehensive Shopping needs, Leisure and Sports facilities, Theatres and a good selection of excellent Country Inns and Restaurants.

For the Commuter, Headcorn provides a Mainline Rail Service into Central London and access to the Motorway network can be accessed via the M20 which can be joined at the Leeds Village junction. The new fast link to London from Ashford International takes only 38 minutes and this is attracting the ‘smart money’ into the area, to take advantage of the excellent house prices, educational choice and the quality of life. Ashford International also provides rail links to Europe. The Euro Tunnel, accessed via Exit 11a on the M20, provides an excellent Train service for motorists wishing to travel with their cars over to Calais.

Headcorn provides a local Primary School and there are numerous other Schools within driving distance including Dulwich Preparatory School, St Ronans, Marlborough House, Benenden, Bethany School, Sutton Valence and Invicta Girls Grammar School. Angley School in Cranbrook has been turned around in the past few years and has continued to get better and better, achieving specialist school status as a Sports College in 2002, a fantastic accolade as the first school in Kent to be awarded this honour. This innovative school enjoys the use of the Weald Sports Centre as well as the Sports Education Centre.
