Lamberhurst is located in the Teise Valley on the Kent/Sussex border. The Village sits in the gently rolling downland at the north western edge of the picturesque Bewl Water, which offers a range of activities including Windsurfing, Rowing, Canoeing, Walking, Riding and of course Sailing. There are also many fine walks and nature trails around Bewl itself. Lamberhurst has its own excellent Golf Club with many others within a reasonable driving distance. The Village and its ancient Manors are a rural idyll. Before the Industrial Revolution, Lamberhurst was a centre for the Wealden Iron Industry, which had been set up during Roman times. Since then it has had some importance for the Hop Industry and was home to Baroness Margaret Thatcher. Lamberhurst has a variety of local shops including a fine Baker, a General Store with a Post Office, Butchers, and several character Country Inns with separate Restaurants. There is also the very popular La Dolce Vita Italian Restaurant. The nearest Shopping Centre is Royal Tunbridge Wells about 5 miles to the South West. Lamberhurst has its own excellent new Primary School and is within the catchment area for Uplands Community College. For the commuter, Trains run from the Mainline Rail Stations at Wadhurst (approx. 3.2 miles) and Frant Station (approx. 4 miles) taking roughly 50 minutes to get to London Bridge/Waterloo/Charing Cross).
