The pretty Village of Ticehurst lies along a ridge in the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The central Village Square has a good selection of convenience Stores including a Village Shop, Post Office, an excellent Butchers and Ticehurst Motors, a friendly local Garage which sells New and Used cars and also provides a repair service. Nearby stands the beautiful Church and a row of picturesque tile-hung Cottages. The Village boasts a good local G.P Doctors Surgery, Pharmacy, several Country Inns, Tea Room, an Indian Restaurant, a Rare Books Shop, a Bank, a Hairdresser and a Dry Cleaners. The Village Hall is the venue for popular social activities, including Amateur Dramatics, and the neighbouring Village Club puts on regular events. Dale Hill Golf Club is home to the famous Ian Woosnam Course and there are other courses within easy driving distance at Hawkhurst, Lamberhurst, Sissinghurst and Royal Tunbridge Wells.

The Spa Town of Royal Tunbridge Wells lies some 15 miles north and offers a more comprehensive range of shopping, banking and recreational facilities. Places of interest include the National Trust Gardens and Grounds of Scotney Castle, Bodiam Castle. Bedgebury Pinetum and Bewl Water offer further recreational activities. Nearby Wadhurst, Etchingham and Stonegate provide Mainline Rail Links into Central London. There are a variety of good schools in the area including Ticehurst and Flimwell CE Primary School, Uplands Community College in Wadhurst, Vinehall in Robertsbridge, Bethany in Goudhurst and Marlborough House and St Ronan's in Hawkhurst.
